I have a texas RN license and want to know how to get an illinois license?

please provide me the links and requirements needed in obtaining the license

Here is a link to their website which has numbers on the left side where you can call and ask questions:

Hope this helps.

It used to be if you have your Texas license, you can endorse to IL. You need to contact the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation for information on how to do so. Once you pass NCLEX, you will NOT have to take it again. It is a nation-wide exam and is accepted by all states. IL is not a compact state, so to work there, you must have an IL license.

I found a current write up on this... scroll down to the last paragraph:

http://www.illinois.gov/pressreleases/sh...

Establishing a first-in-the-nation externship program: Nurses who are licensed under the laws of another state or territory of the U.S., primarily from Puerto Rico, who wish to practice in Illinois and are preparing to take the National Council Licensure Examination, are now allowed to work under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse licensed in Illinois while they are enrolled in a course which prepares them for the licensure exam and acclimates them to nursing and health care delivery in our state.
if its like the cna's, you would have to challenge the test in illinois
