Anyone a LMRT or a Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist? Please tell me how the job is and any other details. Whats the difference between a RT and LMRT?...Please respond..
To be a RT, you have to be accepted into a 2 year associate of applied science program. When completed, you must take a registry exam to become a registered technologist. This allows you to perform all radiographic exams. I believe with the limited license program you are only allowed to do extremity and chest xrays (I think), which would limit your job opportunities and pay. I believe the schooling for the limited is only like 6 months to a year. If I were you, I'd go for the full licensure. I hear it is hard to find a job if you are limited. Also, with the RT, you are able to cross-train into other modalities like CT or MRI. Good luck with your education!
