Hey I was wondering if after becoming an RN with an associates degree could you later transfer to a PA school? |
I want to get my RN degree at our community collage and then later go to school to be a Physicians assistant....Is that possible and can some of the RN courses transfer to the PA degree? Please help me out!! Thanks in advance I believe you must have your bachelors degree to attend a PA school. However, if you get your bachelors in nursing, i would then become a nurse practioner (masters degree, another 2 years) It can be as a family NP, or midwife, or other types and you do not have to work under a doctor like a PA does in some states. There seems to be many more nursing masters program as well. I have my BSN and it took me many years. I would reccomend getting your associates degree as an RN, then working (and thus gaining experience) while doing an RN to BSN (bachlors) program. Then when you are done with that, you can apply to a masters program right away because you will have your BSN and have the experience needed. Good luck! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/nurse_pract... Sort of. you can move on to PA school but PA is a masters degree and therefore any undergrad credits probably won't count. but I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask Sometimes as an RN, you may choose to go on to a NP, or Nurse Practitioner. It is similar to a PA, but continues down the line of a nurse, it is also a masters program. Salary is about the same as a PA. |
