What job in the medical field is the safest from legal troubles? |
I'd like to be an anesthesiologist, but I'm not a big fan of the imminent chances of being sued, so I'm searching for one where it is not very likely to get into any sort of legal trouble... I can't guarantee that you'll be safe from legalities in ANY job... However, if you want high pay without the dangers of being an anesthesiologist or a surgeon, and saying that you live in North Carolina, you can be either a General Practitioner for kids or an Internist for adults and your beginning wage could be from $30-$60 per hour... Same for dentists as well... In California, Internists get pretty high wages as well, even if you're a beginner... Otherwise, be a Nursing Assistant... No G.P. or Internist around my part of NC has ever been severely sued by a patient... people sue for getting their coffee to hot or being fat, so find something you like to do and let insurance do the rest, don't be afraid to do something you love because someone might sue. Trying to reach 200 or 300 points sry! Good luck with that one...radiography... Maybe a Radiologist? Hard to get sued for reading an X-ray or MRI. well that is why you get malpractice insurance. Any job you do that holds someone life in your hands is going to risky. But That is why you go to school for so long and that is why it is hard to become a doctor so you know what you will be dealing with. I would not become a doc or anything like that if you are already talking about messing up....you need to be confident. You are already doubting yourself...if not you wouldn't be worried about being sued. If you want to go into medicine but in a field where you're not likely to be sued, give it up. You can be a janitor in a hospital and get sued. All doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, even secretaries are open to any type of legal trouble. There are a number of things that could happen. Try not to think about the legalities of your job and do what you love. If you spend your life living by "what ifs", you're not going to be happy. |
