What is the difference between a clinical laboratory scientist, a medical technologist, and a?

medical laboratory technician? I've been told they are all pretty much the same thing. Is this true? Does the title CLS, MT, MLT really make a difference in pay scale or anything? Or is it all just the same with different wording?

Clinical laboratory scientists and medical technologists are pretty much the same thing. The name is slowly changing over to clinical lab scientist because it cleary describes what we do. There normally is a difference in pay between MT and MLT, with MT making more because MT's can do more duties without supervisiion. Source(s): Medical technologist for 7 years.
