I applied for a part time job in ups.is their benefits(medical-dental..... good? No, I didn't get my benefits in until I had to leave for college(I had worked there 6 months already) and recieved them a week before I left. The job was ok, pay was good, at the end though I got laid off because we had too many employees and the senior employees would bump me off the time i wanted to work and if someone didn't want to come in, I was called an hour before scheduled work. Its also rough on your back and for dealing with boxes you put up with a lot of "drama". But all in all I liked my job, my co workers were awesome. But yes the benefits are decieving and if you're going for package handling FORGET tuition assistance!! Good luck, like I said its a GOOD job for the money! Source(s): Part time package handler/Local Sort No, for package handlers it is very deceiving, you have to pay dues right when you start, you dont get any benefits for 6 months, you have to work over 1000 hours in a year to get the 401k contribution match which is only a match of $500.00 the medical and dental copays suck. I worked for ups years ago pt. time and it was blue cross / blue sheild... its an hmo... you have certian doctors you can go to in network .. but its pretty good for group insurance Good Luck.. use to work for ups |
