Registered Nursing question? |
I'm in a bind right now, this is my second year at a community college and i'm taking my prerequisites for the nursing program. Now the nursing program takes about 2 years to finish. I'm worried because I feel that I am behind and that i might not be able to finish my prereqs until next year, which means that it will take 3 years to finish my prereqs and an additional 2 years for the nursing program. I want to know if i'll still be funded by financial aid or that i will be cut off by the end of the 4th year. Thanks in advance for reading my question. You should really talk to the financial aid office about this. I'm not sure if it will be covered or not, but it will not hurt to ask the financial aid people this question. There are many hospitals and nursing homes that offer assistance in paying for training in exchange for you working there for a certain period of time. If you cannot get financial aid (though I'm pretty sure you can), you could try this route. Whatever you do, don't give up! I am in Nursing school right now. I know that it is hard to finish all of your prerequisites in time. I want to first say that you should take your time to finish your prerequisites. I am starting my 5th year of school (I will graduate with my BSN in December). My financial aid was not cut off after 4 years. Believe it or not, a lot of people don't graduate in 4 years. Check with your school's financial aid department for more information on your specific loan. They will be able to answer your question or direct you to your loan provider. Best of luck in school. Take your time! Personal Experience |
