Anyone work in a maternity ward in a hospital??

I am considering a job that is in a creche department in a maternity ward, ( i am qualified) and then mabe going on to be a midwifery assistant etc. but before i leave my current job was wondering if anyone else is currently doing the particular or similar job and if they could tell me what it's like and what to expect. Thanks x

I worked as nursing assistant a couple of years ago its not all its cracked up to be!!
You are basically the cleaner, the waitress, the general dogs body
Its bloody hard work
definetly not the job for if you like your breaks!!!
You will spend most of your time changing bed sheets and making tea and coffee
Nurses/midwifes have such hard jobs so your basically there to help them out
If you want to enjoy the reward you get from dealing with patients then yeah this job is definetly for you!!!
Hi im a midwife, expect abusive ungrateful patients, expect to be constantly busy with most new mums needing a lot of care and attention but you being unable to provide it, expect overcrowded understaffed wards, anyway good luck!
