I'm 26, and i'd love to do media production at uni, but have heard it is so hard and competitive to get a job. I am also interested in anatomy, and have been offered a place to do nursing, for the job security. Help! Do i follow my heart, do media, and maybe never have a career, or follow my brain and do nursing!?
Go for nursing it's so in demand and you'll have tons more stability. Do some media prodcution work on the side, mabye some independent contract work for instance. That way you have the best of both worlds and money to support your real passion! I know most people would probably say follow your heart and go for media production but I'm a recruiter and a realist, so trust me I know nursing would be the smart choice.

Recruiter Nursing without a "call" to do it? Isn't it one of those jobs preferably done with .. your heart? Security??? Looks like is a changing concept isn't it? Follow both, opportunities and your heart but if you forget this one - heart - you'll regret it. It's a mistake, a huge one Never get opportunities that put that at risk - never. The big question are you willing to sacrifice the time and tears(emotional) to nursing? How compassionate are you? Your heart isn't in it, just because you like anatomy is totally different than an independent work like media production. There's just no cohesion between the two fields to show why you want nursing. Sure there's job security, but there's more involved than just security. You can always go into a field of media and make it your "own". Just do a lot of soul searching, job shadow, whatever to know if that's THE field for you. If you like Media, do it, (if you build it they will come). Good luck in either endeavor. God bless!
