Becoming a registered nurse, already have bachlors?

thinking about becoming an rn & was told w/ prior degree would take 2yrs mon-fri & lab etc.. Has anyone gotten rn degree faster w/prior ed (4yr b.s. business). If so, where did you go? I live in Fl.. thanks

Many schools these days offer "accelerated BSN" programs if you have an existing bachelor's degree. These programs take 2-3 years, and it's usually about 2-3 days per week of classes, with one of those days being at clinical sites for an 8 hour day. Here's a link that can help you find schools based on what kind of program, location, etc.

You can get an Associates degree in two years but a Bachelor's degree will still take another 4 years.

The shortest amount of time it would take to obtain your RN if you already have a bachelor's degree is one year if you do an accelerated program; however, I have not heard many good things from people in these types of programs. The best route would be an associate's which is a 2 year course of study. You do not need a bachelor's of science in nursing (BSN) to become an RN.
There are SO MANY options offered at many schools. Check around your area. In my immediate area, there are schools that even offer a special program to obtain a BSN in 2 years if your already have a non-nursing bachelors, and then if you are really into nursing, there are MANY programs that offer RN-MSN. Which means if you get a nursing associate's, then you can get your master's in nursing in 2 years without having to go through another bachelor's program.
Many nursing courses are now offered online as well.
