Is it better get an RN or get LVN first to work and then go through RN later?

Whats your opinion? Is it easier to go through the schooling to get your RN first straight through? Or is it better to get some kind of Medical Training and then work while I'm getting my RN? Please only answer if you are in the health care schooling or business.
Thanks

It all depends on where you live... Here in Texas it's harder to get into RN programs. I was lucky and got in pretty quick, but if I hadn't, I probably would have went the LVN route. Also, call your local hospitals because some don't hire LVN's anymore! I worked as a tech for a local hospital and they have paid for my entire RN education. It does help to work at a hospital during school. Go for the RN! Source(s): Soon to be RN.... Graduating in December!!!
Depends on your financial needs. One should not let oneself get distracted by a job if it can be helped. An RN degree is a helluva workload.
