Can you work as an EMT if you yourself have heart problems like a heart murmur and paplations? Yes, just as long as you don't become your own patient :) Be sure that you can meet the physical requirements of the job, it can be pretty strenuous and involves heavy lifting. Make sure you see your doctor on a regular basis, take all medications as prescribed, and follow up with your MD if you experience any worsening of your condition. Know your physical limitations. Trust me, there are some patients that are just too heavy for you and your partner to lift! It's OK to ask for help as needed :) probobly you can, befor you take the class they will give you a physical Yes, I don't see why you couldn't. Paramedic in SC You can work as an EMT here where I live as long as you aren't limited by your doctor. If you can normally manage stress well then you should be ok. Yes. My brothers friend has serious heart problems and he is an EMT. I have heard years ago that being an EMT can be a very stressful job. I would suggest interviewing/asking other EMTs and see what they have to say about being an EMT. |
