Is a CNA in the U.S. the same as a LPN in Canada?

Im living in Canada now and would like to work as a CNA.but they don't have CNA's in Canada..So is a CNA like LPN?

No. A Certified Nurse's Aide (CNA) is not the same as a Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN). You would need schooling to become GPN ( Graduate Practical Nurse) then you will be required to take an exam. Once passing the exam, you will receive a license = LPN. I can't believe that Canada doesn't have the need for CNA's. There must be something that you can do ! CNA's are in such high demand in the States. I hope that this helps and Good Luck. Source(s): Medical Professional, RN
Nope.. LPN is licensed practical nurse, where a CNA is a certified nursing assistant. A certificate and a license is a huge difference. LPN has to go to college where a CNA has to take a certification class..
Used to be a CNA
