Would an online database of medical mistakes keep doctors in check?

I can't wait for this website to go live, lawsuit city...

There is in fact such a database. It is called the National Practitioner's Data Bank (NPDB). However, it is not open to the public. It is available to the government, and any company conducting credentialing (which is the due diligence required to let a doctor practice in a facility or be a part of an insurance company). There was an effort by 60 minutes several years ago to get the NPDB available to the public but the medical lobbyist were too strong. Source(s): http://www.AngieMilhous.com
Sometimes its something that ppl want to do and they want to "attack" their doctors but doctors are ppl too & they do make mistakes

I think that ppl want their doctors to be god & they aren't. Plus much of your health care is your own responsibility. Lawsuits aren't the answer to it all!

At times there are just a simple need for an apology from the doctors not a need to subject the good ones to embarassment!
my opinion
