If you want a career in the medical field do you have to attend medical school?

No, you can go anywhere that offers the field you are looking into, ie - nursing, xray, respiratory, physical therapy.... community colleges offer some of these programs.
depends on what position you wish to obtain... if you want work with patients one on one then the answer is yes. if you want to bill them or their insurance company or just make appointments then no... most tech schools offer classes.
No, you can get many different jobs like medical assistant with only two years of schooling.

But if you want to be directly involved with the patients and procedures, yes.

Although, people are constantly getting caught for practicing medicine without even an Associate's degree and some were doing it for over 30 years.
