Philosophy and journalism?

i want to study philosophy to get my b.a. but since jobs are basically non-existant in the area, i was considering double majoring in journalism, possibly photojournalism. that way i can get a job using what i learned. has anyone done this, i'm not sure if it's a long shot thinking i'll get a job with the two combined. i might go onto get a higher degree, but rightnow i'm interested in this. does it sound like a bad idea, and too difficult to handle. or is it worth it.

Philosophy and journalism make a great combination. You'll study the great writers and thinkers, which will help you in learning the journalism trade. It's true that the job market for philosophy majors is quite small, but with very strong writing and reporting skills you'll be able to find a position. Good luck!
