Where can I find a job as a transciptionist working from home I can't find anyone advertising? |
Having spent numerous hours looking on the internet, if I do find anyone advertising for transcriptionist, they are not looking to recruit. I have tried looking in the job section of the newspaper and still nothing. I have digital equipment ready to start. Working from home in this field is difficult as it requires a certain sense of trust. Just starting in this business, I would say that no one really knows you, and how would they know exactly how long it took you to complete an assignment unless they're paying per assignment? It's easier if you know someone in the field who can vouch for you. That, having said, you can try hospitals directly. I personally know that Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center have their transcriptions outsourced through a company. I have a certificate in Transcription, a diploma in medical assisting, which required an additional transcription class. I also have a class in machine transcription. No one will hire me because of "lack of experience" I work in a hospital and cant even get transfered to the department! It is the hardest thing to get started. |
