What kind of job opertunaties are there for 42 yreold men with little education.? |
iam 42 male need to find a new career. even if i have to go back to school. what are some good options for me. Clearly, you have some kind of experience, even if it is not obvious to you, try to use that. What exact kind of job also depends on where you live. With work ethic, a good personality and honesty there are plenty of jobs that do not require much schooling: any manual labor job, security guard, helping in a small shop, man with a van, selling fresh orange juice in the local festivals in weekends. Finding a job is mostly a matter of willingness and imagination, less a matter or schooling. Click on my photo and then message me so that I can send you a link, because its a serious but fun opportunity. I think you better try to make own bussiness. Doing a hobby as your job it will be really fun. First of all go back to school and get the education. Do it part time or full time what ever the cash will let you do. Second, at 42 you have been around a little and know what you don't want to do. If your a vet and still qualify use the GI BILL. otherwise go get your GED or Associates or Bachelors. Their are many career counseling offices run by the states so look them up and go their. I am 58, retired at at 55, went back to school for accounting courses, still going, opened my own consulting business and growing that. Their are many fields out there that will take older men but you have to apply your self. When I was in my first job and hired people, I always felt that anyone that was working now and wanted to change careers would be an asset to my company. While this WAS a good way to look at future applicants/hires I also had to take into consideration if they people were laid off, their company closed or downsized and what they were doing to better themselves. Those sitting on their duffs not trying to do anything were not high considerations. Since you don't indicate what you were doing or the reason for changing careers it is difficult to suggest a field but go to the career centers as I mentioned earlier and they will help you decide what to do, help with your resume, and train or coach you for interviews. They will also help to place you. Good Luck If you have a clean driving and criminal record you can apply at a hospital as a transit driver. Also hospitals have other jobs in food service and many other positions. P.S. Hospitals have great benefits if you can get on at one of 'em. You are never too old to go back to school and learn a new trade. I was 37 when my job closed down, the only job I had ever had! I had a GED, but no other training. I went back to school for medical assisting and graduated with a 4.0. I appreciated an opportunity for an education more than I did when I was younger. As a male, why dont you try EMT or Radiology? Lots of males are in those occupations. (That is, if you are interested in healthcare. What ever you decide, I wish you luck in your future! Go for it! |
