I want a career in the medical field where I'll earn good money but do not have to spent yrs in school? I want a huge house and a great body, but I don't want a mortgage and I don't want to exercise. Good Luck! Consider becoming a physcians assistant. It's basically a doctor - you see patients, diagnose, treat, etc. but you practice under the supervision of another doctor. You need a four year bachelors degree and then a 1 1/2 year graduate degree and they are in demand and make good money. Another option is becoming a nurse anesthetist. They are anesthesiology folks who practice under the suprevision of a doctor who is an anesthesiologist. That takes a 4 year bachelors degree in nursing and then a year - 18 months of advanced training and they earn an average of $100,000 a year. Get your head out of the clouds. I certainly did not want you near me in a doctor's office or hospital. The people that work in this field care enough about others that they want to help them. Apparently, all you want is money. I feel the same way and am currently working towards my AS in Dental Hygiene. The starting pay is between $40-55,000/year (depending on where you live). If you can't see yourself scraping peoples' teeth all day everyday (hah), you could also consider either radiography or nursing. These are both two-year programs as well with very good starting pay. Check out your local community college websites (they generally have a link to their Health Sciences department on the homepage) and see what they have to offer in the two-year program areas. However, it is important to note that although the actual programs are two-years, these programs do have prerequesites you have to take; but, they can quite feasibly be completed in 3-4 semesters and most can either be taken online or during evenings. It is still definitely much shorter than other jobs in the medical field. Hope this helps, and best of luck to you! |
