I am a mom searching for a part time second job.? |
My son is a senior in high school and my husband is disabled with medical bills. I need a job that will not be very stressful and makes fairly good money. suggestions? My full time job is a medical assistant in a doctors office, very tiring.. You just need a new home? It sounds like you are worn out already from one job. Could you rent out a room to a boarder to help make ends meet? With your husband at home, he can keep an eye on the place. A quiet college student might be a good answer. Your son is old enough to be working, too, at least part-time. Maybe he is already, but if he isn't, you might consider asking him to help pitch in. If college is in his future, a part-time job will look good on the resume, and help him get future jobs to help him pay his way through college. If college isn't in his future, then he definitely should be working weekends and some evenings. Other part time jobs just depend on your interests. If it's fun, it may be stressful but you won't mind. Are you crafty, and could make stuff in the evenings for weekend farmers' markets and craft fairs? Or grow veggies for farmers' markets? The money isn't going to be wonderful, but it might be something your husband could help out with. (I don't know how disabled "disabled" is, but as long as he's conscious, he probably would feel better doing something -- anything!) Websites and women's magazines will give you 1000s of little ways to cut back on expenditures. Take a hard look at how you use energy, and see if there's a way to cut back. How many cars do you have? Do you really need that many? Is public transport an option? Can you cut back on grocery bills, and still feed your family well? If you decide to take a real part-time job, don't be afraid to call on your son and husband to support you with household tasks. Be kind, be fair, and be specific.
