I'm having trouble finding a job in medical billing and coding field because i don't have my certificate . |
but i do have adiploma in my field I took Medical Terminology and Medcial Billing & Coding classes recently...... I recieved certificates of completion after I passed each class. I believe that Medical Billing & Coding has exams you must pass to be a "certified coder" and I do know that certified coders make big big big dollars. My teacher introduced us to a women in town who became a "certified" coder and because the hospital she was working at was looking for a "coder" she applied and got the job. She was working with 1 other "coder" who was not certified like she was. The women who recently started was making $30+ per hour and even though the other women had been working as a coder for about 2 years she was only making half that much..... take the exam to be a certified coder and you will make a crap load of cash. Right now I work as a CNA full-time and I volunteer my time 3 days per week from 9-1pm in a Medical Billing Office just to gain the experience and learn... I know it sounds crazy to work 12hrs per week and not get paid but it looks good on a resume and it shows I am serious about learning. |
