Sonography as a career?

I am thinking of doing sonography and specializing in echocardio. as a career. I was really excited about this prospect until I talked to a friend at work about it who started sonography school and said it was so hard, she quit and did x-ray. She said it's alot of pressure and you have to know so many formulas just to do one scan.

Well, I didn't expect it to be easy and I am willing to work hard and all, but this did sort of scare me lol. Mainly I just don't want to start the program and realize I am no good at it and fail. She said over half the class didn't graduate! I just don't want to be one of those that fail. Like I said before I am willing to work hard but I wouldn't exactly say I'm that smart, just average, and math is not my strong point.

I have shadowed Sonographers before and of course they say it's great because thats what their supposed to say to students lol. Anyway, is anyone in the field, either general sonography or echo, that can tell me what they think?

No. Don't go for anything as a career because there's a chance you might fail....
