What is med-certified?

I'm a caregiver, and they want to med certify me. What exactly would I be qualified to do? Specifics would be great! And what other opprotunities would I be qualified to apply for? Thanks!

They essentially give you a class that teaches you how to pass medications safely, and how to document that you did it. It involves checking patient identification and allergies, checking the medication, the route (oral, injection, etc. - but you will only be able to give oral to my knowledge), the dose, and the time to make sure you are passing it correctly.

It's helpful to have, but it won't really make you more marketable unless you are certified as a CNA or HHA or something similar.
