Should i Become a CNA to support me in College?

I want to go to school and become a OB/GYN, but while i'm in college, i wanted to be a CNA to help me with money and experience in the medical field. I know CNA's are the least respected nurses, (my best friend's mom and my cousin are CNAs) but this is just to help me. I also know they don't make mad mad money, but the money will be good for a college student. And i heard that certification is quick. Is this a good idea? By the way i'm a junior in High School right now.

Wow, I congratulate you on knowing and planning your profession at your age. Way to go!! You're on the money, a cna doesn't pay top dollar, but you can get certified pretty quickly and get starting experience/education in the medical field. Since staying in medicine is your career goal, this would be a good place/way to support yourself and start for the interim. You might even get your nursing cert before pursuing your MD degree! Your background as a cna will surely help you as you progress in your studies. Whatever you do, sounds like you will be fine. Good luck :)
I am a health care giver and I deeply respect CNA's, they are hard workers and have a tough job to do, they do the lion's share of the physical work of patient care in the general care areas, the RN's depend on them heavily and the patients would be worse off without CNA's. I think it's a good idea to get your CNA certification and work, you might even get your LPN which pays more and then your RN before you go to med school, I think former nurses make good doctors since they have done the work that the doctor orders and have spent more time at the bedside than any doctor ever will, and that experience is enormously valuable.
