Ultrasound Technician? |
I'm about to start school to become an Ultrasound Technician, Who has done it? Is it hard? And what should i expect? Please make sure that the program you are entering is an ACCREDITED program. If it is not, don't waste your time or money. If you go to a NON-accredited program, you must work a full year in the field of ultrasound before you can take your licensing exams. But, you will have a hard time finding an employer to hire you without your license. These non-accredited progams put you between a rock and a hard place. The schooling is tough, but worth it! If you have any background or knowledge of anatomy, that will help. There are a lot of physics. It is a great field to go into though! Go to the following site and search your state and "diagnostic medical sonography" to see if this program is accredited. http://www.caahep.org/find_an_accredited... Best wishes! Source(s): I am a sonographer..... I too am a little leary of your question. Here in AZ the legit. schools admitting students require that person have been a Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, or X-ray tech (registered). In other words you should have a registered license in something and you'd already know what to expect. Some of those "fly by night" schools that advertise on TV during Soap Opera Hour, aren't usually legit. Your question makes me wonder if that's the kind of school you're attending. |
