HOW MUCH DO A CERTIFlED NURSING ASSISTANT GET PAID WORKING AT A NURSING HOME OR HOSPITAL? |
HOW MUCH DO A CERTIFlED NURSING ASSISTANT GET PAID WORKING AT A NURSING HOME OR HOSPITAL? dont listen to the person that said hospitals pay more.... they dont! here in va a cna in a hospital makes 7.50 (barely over mininum wage)-10 dollars an hour on average. in a nursing home you can expect 10-13 dollars an hour usually. i'm a nurse and the hospitals start nurses at 11.75-12.75 and i started at a nursing home making 15.50! nursing homes definatly pay better but the work is ALOT harder and more demanding... that's why they pay more.... Hosptials usually pay better. It depends, but generally in hosptial nursing assistants make between $9-12 to start. Most places cap salary around $16-18 (after you've worked there for many years). Nursing homes generally pay a bit less. Depends on what state you are in. In VA it can be anywhere from $7-$12 per hour It varies wildly by location but I know in Upstate Ny, nursing homes pay between $7-$12 (more for night shifts). I don't know what hospitals pay but i do know in NY they require a different certification than nursing homes. personal experience CNAs make little money and the job is both physically and mentally exhausting. The CNAs do all the personal hygiene for the patients. They change adult diapers, change sheets, empty bedpans and do a lot of lifting. You have to really have the calling to help others for this job. Salary depends on the state and experience. Plan to make $10.00 to 13.00 per hour. |
