Which book will best prepare me for the NCLEX-RN?

I did not pass my first exam. I have Saunders, HESI, and Incredibly Easy books with the cd's? I need to stick to one study plan and go straight through with it instead of bits and pieces from different sources. Does anyone feel any one thing in particular helped them to pass this exam? Thank you for any tips or advice. I am gun shy of this exam at this point and I was not the first go.

I used the Saunders Q&A book and liked that one a lot. It had more comprehensive exams with better rationales.

But I used a variety of books - personally I benefitted from having a lot of different sources, the more sample questions the better.

I studied for a week straight prior to taking NCLEX. I answered something like 3000 questions and read every rationale. That was the most helpful to me. And if you take those comprehensive exams and are able to consistently get above 60%, you are basically sure to pass.

Good luck! Source(s): RN
I'm not a nurse, but you may be able to find some reviews of such manuals at www.amazon.com. I've heard that many don't pass the first time around just as many lawyers, accountants and those that took the A+ certification for computers needed to have taken their certification test again. Please don't allow that to discourage you and instead look forward.
I used the Incredibly Easy Book and CD and also one called Exam Cram with CD. They were both helpful. I used the Incredibly Easy book at first, then about 2 weeks before the exam, I used Exam Cram. I still didn't feel prepared. I got a lot of "prioritizing" type questions on the exam, and a lot of medication side effect questions. Having been through it once, you probably know what to expect. Good luck!!!
