MRI / Rad tech / Sonography/ Raspiratory: Which one? Worth it?

I am trying to go back to school (already have a bachelors in Management-no job) for either MRI-Radiology Technician / Sonography / Respiratory Therapy associate degrees. Any idea which one is a better field to get in to in terms of the demand?

I can't speak for the other fields, but ultrasound techs are in demand. I just started the ultrasound program at my college. I've done a lot of research and reviewed job sites. If you do go to school for ultrasound, TRY to get into a program that already has its accreditation, otherwise, you'll have to work for a year full time as an ultrasound tech before you're able to sit for your ARMDS board exam. The ARDMS accreditation is THE accreditation almost all hospitals and doctor's offices require. Reason being, insurance companies and Medicare/Medicaid sometimes don't reimburse the facility if the ultrasound tech is not accredited. I've done my share of looking around on job sites and most say "ARDMS certified" and some say "ARMDS eligible within one year". If it says the latter, that means you have to be able to sit for it AND PASS after working for them full time. (which means you have to have gone to school in SOME sort of 2 year program.)
A friend of mine is in the program too, and she looked into the respiratory therapy program at our school, as well. She found out respiratory techs only make half as much as ultrasound techs (at least where we live), so the choice was easy for her.
Another field for you to consider is Cardiovascular Technology. You can take the non-invasive track and that covers echocardiograms (a sonogram of the heart) as well as other non-invasive procedures of the heart. Being an echo tech is more demanding and stressful than a regular ultrasound tech from what I've been told by numerous people in the field, you usually have suckier hours too, but the pay is usually better IF you're doing echos.
Good luck with your decision and I wish you the best!
