What,s a good laptop for a nursing student ?? |
My wife is going back to school to finish a nursing program which ,she has one year of credits going in. We are 50ish and have a desktop which runs xp.We don,t think it makes much sense to get a laptop with all the exta stuff.just enough to do the job for two years. Some time ago when she earned these credits, computers were not used much..Now ,as you know, they are a must..We are only just knew to computers.got the DT 1 year ago and neither of us has much knowlege in laptops.Maybey, just a little more than (just enough to get by ) will do ????? It all depends what brand you are looking for... Through experience I would recommended a Tobisha brand or Sony ... They have been the best for me lasting nearly 4 years and still running just like i brought them ... Today you can get a great deal on computers and get a good one ... I would recommend 1 GB RAM and 200 GB Hard drive. It would not run you more than a 1000. I recommend you taking a look at the Toshiba Satellite T2080 Notebook or the Toshiba Satellite Notebook with AMD Turion 64X2 or Sony VAIO T2060 Notebook or Sony VAIO Notebook with Intel Centrino Duo ... They are run under 1000 dollars. Whatever you do, seriously reconsider if you think of getting a Toshiba. I've had nothing but problems with mine and their costumer service department is awful. Anyways, maybe your wife can visit the nursing department and talk to some of the students and teachers there about what her computer needs might be. The desktop should be fine, but it's best to be sure. |
