If given the choice of the following careers, which would you choose and why? |
Dental Hygiene Nursing Respiratory Therapist X-Ray Tech You need to look at what is the current demand in your area. In mine, there is a high demand for dental hygienists. True there are jobs in the other fields, but I also looked into the hours and the flexibility- no midnights. Since I have young kids, I need the days. Pay in my area is also great. I know 6 people who have graduated from the same school in dental hygiene in my area and on average they are making about $70,000 a year. Good Luck. Source(s): Future Dental Hygienist. X-Ray Tech. Most people that come in for xrays aren't contagious :) x-ray tech- i heard that's one of the highest paying professions first look into x-ray - it has alot of areas that you can train in down the road, like nuclear med or sonography, these pay really good. second nursing-if you get burned out working on the floor in a hospital you can always find an area that you can work outside the hospital and still make good wages. dental hygiene i'm not sure about, but possibly, if tired of this job then its back to school again. respiratory therapy -----forget it------dead end. you do floor therapy (filling nebulizers--boring), and when you get burned out its back to school. good luck-before making decisions talk to people who work on the job not those sitting behind a desk. don't be afraid to ask questions about what the job consist of on a daily basis. Nursing, it is the best career to be able to help people. |
