Have you ever quit a job for another to find out wrong thing to do?

Hi all,
Will here it goes.I quit two good jobs I had to take up truckdriving. It was something I really wanted to do,I spent will over $4000.00 for the course a couple of years ago.I had a very hard time getting into it,as the companies I did have really screwed me up.When I first started truck driving,I never got paid.No I was not on traiing,I was in the truck ,myself doing a job and the companies I was with took advantage of a new driver. That happened for the first few companies I was with.I shook my head and could not understand what was going on.I left 2 good jobs(nursing) to go and try something diffrent. Now it has been 2 years since I recieved my license and I am wanting to go back into nursing.Have any of you tried another job thinking you will like it only to find out the opposite?

I've been in your shoes, but not nearly as drastic. Just I quit a VERY good job at an insurance company because the boss was terrible and I just couldn't take it. ... only to struggle to find another good job and in the time it took me to do that, the boss I hated, was demoted to support level (the same level I was)... .oooh I had wished I was there for that one!!!

So lesson learned for me - don't let one person run you out of a good job...

But I think your lesson is different... you pursued a dream of trucking... only you had some bad experiences. Are you sure you want to quit. Seems like you've learned and now you can handle things better?

Good luck in your decision. Nursing seems "safe", but trucking seems like an adventure.
Yes, many have done that. If you liked your jobs and where you were working then go back and ask for the jobs back. Let them know you went out and tried something new to find out you liked working there better. Don't be afraid of asking, the worst they will tell you is no. I'm sure if there is an opening and you were good at the job you will get your old job back. Nursing is a high demand job. Best of Luck!
