RN Board Examination? |
How difficult is it to pass the RN Board Examination? How many attempts can you have to take it? After you pass it, how long will it approximately take to process your RN License? It's pretty hard, and no matter how well you do in nursing school, almost everyone walks out of the test feeling like they failed, even if you didn't. I don't know a single person who left the test confident that they passed. A lot of people pass it the first time, but it's not uncommon to NOT pass it on the first try, or even second! To my knowledge there is no limit to how many times you can take it - but call your state board of nursing to make sure. The most helpful thing, I think, is to take as many practice tests in those NCLEX review books as you can. Answer at least 2000 questions if you can, and read every rationale for their answers, it will help you understand how the NCLEX works and the logic that they follow. After you test and pass, it depends on your state and how backlogged they are, but my license number was issued within 3 days and I had my paper license in the mail within a week or two at the most. Call your state board of nursing to find out how long they think it will take. Good luck! |
