Can Medical Assistants advance further in their career to become x-ray technicians?

I am a medical assistant and want to go to school to become a x-ray technician. Since I have experience working as a medical assistant will it be more easier for me to get a job as a x-ray tech.

It certainly wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it would make you a shoe-in, either. Basically employers just want you to be an ARRT-registered radiologic technologist. Source(s): me - RT(R)
It will be easier since you have some experience dealing with sick people. Any experience counts.
