Is it necessary for a medical assistant to have a degree?

I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF IT IS NECESSARY FOR MED ASSISTANTS TO HAVE A DEGREE? I HEARD AS LONG AS THEY ARE CERTIFIED THAT ALL THEY NEED?

You usually can go to school for two years and get a certificate. It depends on where you live if a degree is required. Check your state requirements.
I know where I live, places won't hire you or even interview you unless you at least have a certificate. Most places don't care if you have a degree though.
If you are doing office work for a doctor, you will need to be a mecical assistant. For nursing homes, hospitals and outpatient services, you must be certified by the state where you work.
It depends on how the company will be using the MA. Most of our MAs are certified, but they act as Medical Receptionists. We've also hired people with zero MA experience because they've had excellent customer service skills, and then, we trained them to do whatever was necessary. If you work in a larger setting, this works. Smaller offices have to have people who are able to perform across all levels, so they most likely will require certification.
This site http://www.medical-assistant.biz/... discusses what training/studies are required for medical assistants.
