Employee rights - returning to work after long-term illness?

I am set to return to work, initially on restricted duties/limited hours, after a five-month illness.
I have been on statutory sick pay for the past six weeks after previously being on full and then half-pay. Legally, does my employer have to pay me my full-time wage when I return to work on limited hours - as advised by my doctor - or can the organisation just pay me for the hours I work until I build myself back up to full-time hours.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

The company does not have a legal requirement to phase you back into work while paying your full wages. They will likely just pay you for the hours worked until you are back to normal.

Good Luck on your recovery! Source(s): Senior Financial Controller
