I would try to stick with the lesser expensive programs such as the ones offered thru the local county vo-tech school. For the private schools that are thousands of dollars, you may be able to get financial aid but they are typically, for the most part, in the form of loans needing to be repaid plus interest.

Please do keep in mind that it may take a couple years for a cosmetologist/hair stylist to make a decent living. One must 'get a book' of regular customers which is what helps bring in the dough especially since the stylist may work, at least in part, on commission. Some people start out as a stylist's assistant (typically in a more upscale salon where they employ assistants) for awhile before getting their own chair. Good luck to you!
Doesn't you cosmetology school offer financial aid? Most of them do.

If you have been turned down for some reason, you are very unlikely to get it from another place.
