I've just started a job at a healthcare facility.? |
I am 2 months into the job, and was wondering am I still able to go back to Human Resources and re-negotiate my pay rate? You are stepping out of the box to renegotiate so early. If you really want to, I suggest that you identify very strong reasons why you deserve a raise. Think also of what your employer may say - that you accepted the job on the terms they gave or they have not seen enough of your performance to warrant a raise--and how you will answer them. There is a risk here-your employer could think your request shows bad judgment or they could be irritated and change their view of you. There's also the possibility they could think it shows initiative on your part and give you the raise. What have you observed of them so far? How do you think they will respond? Do your homework before you ask and think things out. I would do this after your 90 days or however long your probationary period is. I wouldn't negotiate so soon. you can go back at any time but be prepared for them telling you no unless you are armed with very good data that supports why you should get an increase after a very short time. too early. Wait until your 90 days are up. |
