What can I do with a clinical biology major? |
I really like science. I really hate math. I want to major in clinical biology. My parents said I won't make any money and will have no job opportunities if I don't go to Med. School and just get a Bachelors/Masters in Clinical Biology. So, my question is: What exactly would I do with a clinical biology major? And how much money, on average, will I make? I really appreciate the help. There are many jobs that this degree can help you in.l Industry hires many to work in their labs to improve their products. Agriculture does have a need for such. Money can be small or large but most likely in the middle some place. If you are good at your work then you are worth more. Begin your research now and find out if this is the thing you really want to do. You will need good math skills. No way out of that one. To be a researcher (which is what most clinical bio majors are), a PhD is usually required. You can find other jobs with just a bachelor's degree such as a nutritionist or bio teacher (slightly different cirriculum) for example. Are you sure this is what you want to do? You will probably have a descent amount of chemistry and maybe 2 physics classes which involve adequate Algebra skills and maybe even one or two calculus classes ( Altough my school doesn't require calc. as long I take trig and college algebra). The money is good averaging over 80k for people with a PhD. If you don't want to go to grad school then you might want to rethink your major because most biologists are required to be very well educated and that means lots and lots of school. Biology Education Major i know at my school there is a major called clinical labatory science which is mostly biology that prepares you to be a clinical lab scientist or medical technologist. you basically run lab tests and everything for the medical field. i think pay is pretty good. but ask your school what opportunities are available. |
