I've heard that there are not supposed to be too many jobs for the medical assistant (or medical billers and coders). If you still would like to get training to become an MA, please stay away from those private schools that charge an arm and a leg in addition to steering clear of those 'online schools' such as penn foster, stratford career or university of phoenix. They are not seen as reputable by employers. Please do instead look at the local community college (perhaps non-credit course) or county vo-tech school.

For general career info: www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'medical assistant' or any other job field that piques one's interest. Good luck to you!
talk to a guidance counselor at the local community college -great choice.
