What is the better job, being an investment banker or a surgeon? |
I am capable of becoming either one of these due to my high grades. What are the working times and which one gives me the most money? On a similar note to what the other postee said, go with your passion. You will probably be working for the next 50 years or so and will need to love what you do in order to thrive at work and be happy and contented with your life. For general career info: www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'physicians and surgeons' or 'investment banker' or such. You are very fortunate to have been such an excellent student! Please really try to envision yourself doing either job, or any job for that matter, and if that is something that you would like to do 8, 12 hours a day -- 40-60 hours a week for the many years ahead. That ol' adage, 'if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life'. And Farrah Gray, a young male multimillionaire entrepreneur and author of 'Reallionaire' says when thinking of a career to ask oneself this question, 'what would I do for years and years to come and not have to get paid?' Source(s): For US colleges and universities: www.utexas.edu/world/univ i dont know for sure, but i think investment banker - become a surgeon if you want to help people/ save lives. if you are only interested in making money, then you should deal with money. also, investment banker would have better hours because people get hurt/need surgery at any time but the financial world shuts down at 5:30 every day. Do what you love, the money will follow! And if it doesn't, you'll still be spending your life doing what you enjoy. Personally, I would be an investment banker. |
