Where can I find information about Tax laws in India?

I'm looking for information on the tax laws of India to determine how doing business in India differs from that of the USA.

There are numerous places online where you can find tax laws of India. The laws can be a bit confusing so even after you figure out your best understanding, I suggest you consult a chartered acct or a lawyer.

since business involves many tax laws in India , one place is not enough for all information. For example, there are are issues :
1. Income Tax
2. Custom for import and export
3. Foreign exchange management
4. Excise
5. Different states have different sales tax laws(thank god now most of them are under one VAT scheme.
So, my suggestion is to visit several sites by doing Google India or Yahoo India search.
