Anyone can become one. You have to go through training and then take a State test and pass with at least 70%.

A Notary Public is a person who has been given authority by the government to witness the signing of documents. Usually you can find a Notary Public at a bank, courthouse, or major office.

Notary Publics are needed for official papers and contracts.
most bank officers are and so is your insurance agent most likely
If you need one, call your bank. They will have one or know where to find one.
usually most banks have one or atleast a couple you can find out by calling your bank and finding out if they have one, or you can simply call the county office and im sure they can get one for you to get something notarized.
