Will a Burial insurance policy cover a green burial? |
Ive wanted a green burial for when its my time to go, and recently read a article about it. http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/08/... However, will my burial insurance plan allow me to have a untraditional, green burial, or lack there of? My policy is under this company; http://www.onedollarinsurance.com... thanks! From my understanding, Burial insurance doesn't have to cover the cost of the burial, it's only designed that way. When you pass away, the money paid out of the life insurance policy goes to your beneficiary who then (hopefully) distributes that money as to your wishes. The Life Insurance Company would not simply cut checks directly to those that provide funeral service. If you want to be absolutely certain, call your agent.
