What is the best way to take care about my retairment if I'm selfemployed? Depends on how old you are and when you want to retire. You should start a Roth IRA or ask a CPA about starting a retirement plan through your business. Either way you have to save, save, save. Being self-employed (earning your income in the "S" quadrant) allows you more control over your income than being an employee (earning your income in the "E" quadrant). However, unless you are earning income in one of the other two quadrants, B (business owner) or I (investment), you have no real financial security.
