What am I suppose to do if I am having problems with my car insurance company? |
My car was found to totaled two months ago and my insurance company was to pay to my car people on my behalf. They still have not done anything. What am I to do about this? Maybe you ought to call the adjuster and start from the top. They have no interest in keeping a claim open for no reason. Maybe they think you are not going to pursue the claim. You have to be sure that you are both on the same wavelength. Every state has an Insurance Commissioner who is there to resolve problems like yours. It may be under another name but I am sure there is one where you live. Contact them and file a complaint. You always have the option of appointing a claims assessor to act on your behalf, such as http://www.ajcconsultants.ltd.uk... Call them!! Maybe they issued the check and your loan company or the mail lost it. Maybe they are waiting for some paperwork from you. Maybe they simply made a mistake (pesky human claims rep). People always assume the worst with claims adj and insurance companies. Nobody is perfect. They always suggest an attorney or the dept of insurance. First call your adjuster, if to no avail go to the supervisor. If you are still not satisfied I would suggest then escalating it to the department of insurance. Adjuster's want to close their files as bad as you want their money. Contact the claims adjuster and find out what is going on. Insurance companies tend to take their sweet time in paying a claim. Let them know that it has been 2 months and your not happy with their service. They were to pay "your car people"? You mean, the company that the LOAN was through? You need to call your agent, to see what the holdup is with this claim. Your agent can look into it for you, and give you a simple list of what (if anything) the company needs from you to get this closed out. You should do this TODAY, as no one will be working the end of this week, and likely next week will be highly understaffed. Agent, 20+ years |
