Ive got 6 points on my drivers licence does my insurence go up? This depends on your insurance company. Some run MVRs at renewals and some do not. If you try to change insurance companies, the new company will run the MVR and your rates will reflect it. The best option is to wait it out. If you get slammed with a huge rate increase / surcharge, call your agent and ask why. If there is nothing they can do then its time to get some quotes.
