Has anyone worked with All State Ins. in Texas?

I filed a claim for a small kitchen fire, but i think the insurance company is "low balling" me. What can I do? Also they are paying the claim off in increments as the work is done, but contractors need some money up front to buy supplies etc. Can't I get a check for the complete amount? The amount is so low I have to use three different contractors to get the work done for that little amount of money.

Yep, lots of people.

If your contractor wants up front money, ask Allstate for a list of contractors that will do it WITHOUT the upfront money, or contractors where you can "direct payment" so that they are paid directly by Allstate.

LIkely what is happening, they are giving you actual cash value, and will give the replacement cost difference to you after the repairs are done. Either that, or you were underinsured to begin with.

Allstate works with direct agents. Your agent who sold you this policy, should be smoothing the claim for you - telling you this information, and giving you advice & guidance. Give them a call, and if they refuse to help, get a new agent. Source(s): agent, 20+ years
Look in the phone book or on the internet. Contact a Public Adjuster quick, fast and in a hurry. You will be surprised at the things they can do. Trust me, I know what I am talking about.
