How will you handle an ethical dilemma?

There are various systems.

A Deontologist believes that they must do their duty to do the right thing.

A Teleologist looks at the consequences of their actions.

A virtue ethicist believes that a good person who has developed positive traits will be able to select a good course of action.


I'm a principled Christian deontologist who believes that the Bible contains not just rules but general principles by which we may figure out how to respond to many of the complex issues today.

There are also principled atheist deontologists and we can have a fine conversation together!
