Is there a company that provides catastrophic (very large deductible) medical insurance for NY residents?

Must be available for New York State residents. Looking to simply cover big ticket health costs should they occur in the future.

Go to the NY State Dept of Insurance (look on www.newyork.gov) They will tell you about plans that are approved by the State and where to purchase.

I've had good luck in getting short term insurance for my kids when they graduate from college from Golden Rule. Not sure if you can but insurance for a long term with them or not.
Your best bet is to check with your local Blue Cross Blue Shield plan and ask about it's catastrophic coverage. The deductible is very high and the coverage is cheap. Contact them by calling 1-800-261-5962.
Look for high deductible plans with any major insurer.
These plans are also known as Health Savings Accounts
or HSA compatible.
