Can I become a investment banker with a CFA and not an MBA. Please decribe both, length of time and rigors.? you can become an investment banker with a kindergarten education.... but its VERY unlikely... most specify MBA and CFA... but it depends a lot on who you know and what your background is. I got my MBA by taking 6 hours of classes every thursday for two years while i held a full time job... Certainly time consuming but i have been very happy i did it. I actually enjoyed it and miss it. I plan on taking the CFA exam.. http://www.cfainstitute.org/cfaprog/... my friend is in stage 2 and was also in the MBA program with me. He says the CFA is HELL compared to the MBA... expect to take about 3 years to complete the CFA... certain tests are only given in june or december and you must pass them in order...technically i think you can do it in 1 1/2 years if you pass each the first time and only allow 6 months of studying between the 1st and 2nd stages but pay close attention to the failure rates they publish and keep in mind everyone that takes the CFA is at least somewhat motivated and educated compared to most other exams...... for stage 1 last i looked it was about a 30% PASS rate.... 70% of these bright ambitious people couldn't make it to stage 2 on the first attempt.... anyways.. Good luck |
